This baby’s Harry Potter inspired photo shoot is pure magic

Harry Potter has held a special place in Kayla Glover’s heart since she was 10 years old. And now, this mama has passed along her love for the wizarding world to her infant daughter, Lorelai Grace.

An adorable photo session by the Pekin, Illinois, mom features 3-month-old baby Lorelai dressed as Harry Potter himself. The photo shoot — complete with Harry’s signature spectacles, a Gryffandor scarf, a wand and Glover’s original set of the 7-book series — would make even J.K. Rowling proud.

I mean, just look at this little cutie! (Don’t you just want to accio her over and pinch those little cheeks?)

“I happened upon the first book when I was 10 years old and was hooked after that,” Glover, of Kayla Layla Photography, told BabyCenter. “I followed the series in its entirety, attended midnight release parties for the remaining books and opening nights at the theater when the movies came out too. I have my fair share of memorabilia and even plan to take my daughter to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter next spring!”

If you’re wondering how difficult it was to capture these wickedly precious moments, the photo shoot was strategically split up into two sessions and timed after naps. It helps, too, that daddy was there to keep props in order and his baby girl safely in place. Not to mention, Glover’s model is a happy, easy-going baby.

As far as props are concerned, they’re a hodgepodge of items either owned by Glover or borrowed from family: The books are the originals she read as a kid, the glasses were also hers from a midnight release party for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (book five,) the wand and scarf belong to her niece and the cauldron is a Halloween decoration of her mother’s.

Since Lorelai is a redhead, Glover said she’s toyed with the idea of transforming her into a Weasley in the future. At the same time, she’s not quite sure if she can recreate the magic of this first set of Harry Potter-inspired photos. As for continuing to share her love for everything Harry Potter, you can bet the series will be on Lorelai’s must-read list.

“We’ll introduce the books and movies to her in good time,” Glover told BabyCenter. “I hope when she experiences the series for herself, she takes away from it the concept of humility and hope, kindness and integrity, but most importantly, the power of a mother’s love for her child.”
