It’s a boy!
Chelsea Clinton and her husband Marc Mezvinsky have welcomed their second child. Born on Saturday, June 18, 2016, the couple’s new arrival joins big sister Charlotte, who is 20 months old.
The 36-year-old mom-of-two made the announcement on Twitter early Saturday morning, writing, “Marc and I are overwhelmed with gratitude and love as we celebrate the birth of our son, Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky.”
Chelsea wasn’t the only one to share the happy news. Her mom, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and her dad, former president Bill Clinton – that’s quite a family tree! – also issued a statement saying that they are “overjoyed to be grandparents again.”
“We are all over the moon as Chelsea and Marc welcome Charlotte’s little brother to the world and grateful for our many blessings,” the couple said. “Chelsea and Aidan are both doing well and enjoying this very special time together.”
Chelsea and Marc’s first baby name pick, Charlotte, ended up on the list of the best of the year according to a BabyCenter poll back in 2014. Will Aidan be just as popular?
While the pair chose a less common spelling, the name Aiden is definitely a favorite among expectant parents – in fact, it’s been in the top 20 names for boys since 2008.
Hillary Clinton isn’t the only presidential hopeful to have welcomed a grandchild recently. Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka had her third child, son Theodore, in April.
