When moms-to-be hire Jocelyn Conway of Photojos Photography for a “bump bowl” session, they first visit her Liverpool studio during pregnancy. It’s an unusual way to start a newborn photo shoot, but the maternity cast she creates will later serve as the perfect place for little one to snuggle back into.
Unlike many pregnancy belly casts (photos below), Jocelyn chooses to cover the midsection without the breasts. She realized doing this would make the perfect bowl shape, which then can be used as a photo prop after baby has been born.
Check out sweet photos of the process, and a few darlings curled up:

Did you notice the image that is split four ways? Jocelyn is careful to ensure baby is safe inside their bowl by always having helping hands hold it stable. She then later edits two images together to create the final hands-free look.
Aren’t they adorable? How lovely to see a newborn curled up in a spot that surely feels just like home.
