Your house of miniatures: Adult chairs in kid sizes

When I was small all the kids used to sit on the floor to hang out or watch TV. Why is that? I don’t remember not being allowed to sit on the couch, but I also don’t remember sitting on it much until I was in my teens. Was it a culture thing? A parenting thing? If you watch shows set in the 70’s or earlier you always see the kids sitting on the floor. Tell me universe, why?

I am a sucker for all things mini. I admit that I bought my kids’ dollhouse so that I could play with it, and I started researching kids’ furniture before I even gave birth to my first child.

There are so many fun and fairly affordable options for kids’ chairs, from replicas of the classic ghost chairs to kid-sized parsons chairs. Here are my picks:

Casper Pink Polycarbonate Kids' Chair (Overstock, $65.99)

Parsons Chair (Overstock, $76.99/set of 2)

Adirondack Chair (Kidkraft, $54.99)

Industrial Kids Activity Chair (Target, $79.99/set of 2)

Kids' Charcoal Grey Leather-Look 2-Piece Chair and Ottoman Set (Overstock, $102.49)

'S' Panton Style Small White Chair (Overstock, $51.99)

Double Chaise Lounger with Cup Holders (Kidkraft, $169.99)

Kid-sized furniture is not only fun, it’s functional. My kids sit at their little table for arts and crafts, snack time, and for dinners when we have a lot of guests. They love their kid-sized version of our chairs!

Do you love kids’ furniture?
