Need something quick and easy for the holiday weekend? Boom. Here you go. Pretzels and rolos…3-5 minutes in an oven…press an M&M on top. DONE! Gourmet? Not really. Super tasty and festive? YES!
My two older kids actually made these themselves, although I took the pan to and from the oven. This is perfect for little hands (as long as the hands don’t keep delivering the treats to their mouths in the process.) Set them out on a cute tray this weekend; you’ll thank me later!
Red, White & Blue Caramel Pretzel Bites
I didn’t have time to go to a specialty store to get the red, white & blue M&Ms so we bought one regular package (picked out reds and blues) and one package of the new coffee nut M&M’s (picked out all the creamy whites). Saved me a trip!
1 package Snyder’s square pretzels
Rolo candies, unwrapped
Red, white & blue M&M’s
Heat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil. Place one pretzel for each pretzel treat desired on prepared sheet. Top each pretzel with one unwrapped Rolo. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until caramel piece begins to soften, but not melt. Remove from oven and let sit for 1-2 minutes; then press M&M in center of each. (If you put the M&M in immediately it melts.)
